100% With sodium tris(acetoxy)borohydride; acetic acid; In N,N-dimethyl-formamide; at 20℃; 1-(2,3-Dihydrobenzo[b][1,4]dioxin-5-yl)piperazine (1.0 g, 4.5 mmol) and tert-butyl 4-(4-formylbenzoyl)piperazine-1-carboxylate (L7 g, 5.5 mmol) where dissolved withDMF/AcOH (50 mL/1 mL). NaBH(OAc)3 (3.8 g, 0.0182 mol) was added in portions.The reaction mixture was stirred at RT over the weekend. H20 was added, followed byaddition of NaOH (1 M). After extraction with EtOAc (3 x 100 mL) the combinedorganic layers were dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated. The residue obtained was purified by column chromatography affording the compound aimed for (2.4 g, 4.5 mmol, 100%).
