The layers were allowed to stand, the lower organic phase was taken, and the organic phase was washed successively with 30 ml of saturated sodium hydrogen carbonate solution and 30 ml of brine. The organic phase was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and dried.Thus, 1.03 g of a permethylated 2,2',4,4'-biphenyl[3]arene is obtained in a yield of 99%;Permethylated 2,2',4,4'-biphenyl[5]arene 0.05 g, yield 5%. |
