YieldReaction ConditionsOperation in experiment
69% Example 1 4-(2,4-dimethylphenyl)-[2-(4-methylpyridin-3-yl)]-1,3-thiazole monohydrochloride (44) A mixture of compound (1) (227 mg, 1.0 mmol), compound (27) (152 mg, 1.0 mmol) and ethanol (3 ml) was heated under reflux for 6 hrs. After cooling, the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure, and the obtained residue was partitioned between ethyl acetate and saturated aqueous sodium hydrogen carbonate. The organic layer was dried (MgSO4) and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was recrystallized from 4N hydrochloric acid/ethyl acetate to give crystals (220 mg, 69%) of monohydrochloride.
