YieldReaction ConditionsOperation in experiment
40% for 27 h; Heating / reflux 2-Bromoacetoacetaldehyde, obtained in Step II as described above, (5 g, 0.03 mol) is dissolved in ethanol (50 mL). Thiourea (2.76 g, 0.03 mol) is added and the reaction mixture is stirred 24h at RT and 3 h under reflux. It is cooled to RT and the resulting solid is isolated by filtration, washed with EtOH and dried under vacuo. 1-(2-Amino-1, 3-thiazol-5- yl) ethanone (P5) is recovered as a white solid (2.5 g, 40percent).
